Well it's Yr 12 now and I'm already drowning in homework first day back. This means that I won't be on the internet as much as I'd like to be so you can expect that this journal will be put on a long semi-hiatus. Don't expect any of my rants or long entries - short posts from now on.

I'd just like to say though, I FEEL ALL POWERFUL! I AM IN THE OLDEST GRADE! MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA...hahahaha....yeah. Time to boss around some juniors.

First time in all my life I actually celebrated Australia Day in the city. I learnt two things:

1. Australia? Egalitarian? My fucking arse.
2. Never trust a policeman with street directions.

OK, I take it back. The weather is hot enough now, thanks. Cronulla was great - I even got sunburnt on the cheeks. Not that that's a good thing, mind. Picnic was delish and the 2hr nap I took was very refreshing. The only unfortunate thing to happen to us was the tree we happened to sit under. Turns out it was a favourite resting place for cockatoos who didn't give two shits what they shat on. Bloody buggers. *mutters darkly* Came back home and urgh, the weather was disgusting. Couldn't sleep comfortably even with the blanket kicked away and the fan turned on to max. power. All you climate change sceptics can come and live in Australia, THEN tell me global warming doesn't exist. >.> Eh well, there's a good cool breeze blowing through the house now.

My dad thought it'd be a great idea to change the layout of my room today and he had me working up a sweat helping him move the bookshelf and everything. What had me wanting to cry though was the fact that he threw all my books and stuff onto the floor and bed and mixed everything up. Now I have to sort out everything all over again! I had all my fiction and non-fiction separated, all my genres and authors perfectly in place. I know you're not supposed to cry over spilt books but... *sob*

ETA: Sammy decided to fuck me over and not turn on, and the Xbox refused to turn on properly as well. I swear if the fan gives out, I will throw the hugest bloody hissy fit.

Maybe someone can help me out here? I didn't want to ask in the actual post at ontd_political but the gist is: a census has come out in America and you have these 3 choices: Black, African-American and Negro. Could someone tell me what the actual differences are regarding these 3 options?

I know that African-American doesn't necessarily mean black because not all Africans are black; but what about the other options? Just curious.

And another question for the Aussies and Americans on my f-list! Are 'negro' and 'Aborigine' still acceptable? Apparently it's rude to say "Aborigine" which is why you use the term "Indigenous Australian". As for 'negro', I always thought it sounded bad as a term but is it really?

My new chucks! :) Blue hi and red ox. I figured it was about time I got myself a pair or two of chucks. I wanted to get core black and core white but they weren't on sale and there's no way I'm spending over $100 on a pair of shoes. The above cost me $80 at Birkenhead Point. I also got myself Guitar Hero 5 Pack and Valkyrie Profile 2 on PS2, the former for $98 and the latter for $10. What a bargain.

My friends usually send me NYE SMS. I always watch the Sydney Fireworks display - best in the world I reckon. I could never miss it.
